Welcome to “Brazilian Food Cooking School”!

Hi there! I’m Chef Geraldo Thomazini, and I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’ve ever been curious about Brazilian food—real Brazilian food, from street snacks to regional dishes full of history, flavor, and soul—then you’ve come to the right place.

I started this blog because I believe the world deserves to know more about the beauty and diversity of Brazilian cuisine. It’s not just about feijoada and pão de queijo (though yes, we love those!). It’s about stories, traditions, native ingredients, and the way we bring people together through food.

Why Brazilian Food Cooking School?

I was born and raised in Brazil, and food has always been at the heart of everything I do. I’ve cooked in hotel kitchens, run restaurants across continents, and taught culinary arts in international schools. But no matter where I’ve been—from the busy streets of Beijing to the vibrant flavors of Dubai—I’ve always carried the taste of Brazil with me.

My journey with food has taken me around the globe. I’ve worked in top hotels and restaurants, not just in Brazil but also in China (Beijing and Shanghai), the Middle East, and Europe. I’ve had the privilege of working at two of the world’s most prestigious Hotel Management Schools, Les Roches and HTMI. I even opened the first Brazilian gastropub in Shanghai, China, and was a chef at the well-known Alameda, a contemporary restaurant with Brazilian roots.

My Expertise in Brazilian Cuisine

Over the years, I’ve had the honor to represent Brazilian cuisine around the world at major government events supported by APEX Brasil, such as Flavours of Brazil, Chefs of Brazil, Taste of Brazil in China and Hong Kong, and most recently, as Culinary Director of the Brazil Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai. I was also the official curator for the Minas na China event, proudly representing my home state of Minas Gerais for five consecutive years through a program managed by Invest Minas.
